St. Albans City Water Unaffected By Ohio Chemical Spill

City of St. Albans Municipal Utility Commission

ST. ALBANS, WV –  St Albans MUC wants to assure our customers and the public that the recent chemical spill in Ohio River will not affect the safety and quality of our water supply. We draw water from the Coal River, which is not connected to the Ohio River and is a tributary of the Kanawha River. We want to emphasize that the spill will not enter our watershed, and our city water is safe.

As one of the few plants in the state equipped with a source water monitoring panel, we constantly analyze the river water to ensure it meets or exceeds all state and federal drinking water standards. Our staff is vigilant and continuously monitoring the water quality, taking all necessary measures to safeguard the quality of our water.

We understand that the recent chemical spill in Ohio may have caused concern among our customers, and we want to assure them that our water supply is unaffected. We encourage anyone with questions or concerns to contact us for more information.

St Albans MUC is committed to providing safe and clean water to our customers. We will continue to monitor the situation and take all necessary steps to maintain the high standards of our water quality.

We appreciate our customers’ trust in us as their water provider and will continue to work diligently to ensure their safety and satisfaction.
